Happy Birthday, Pops!

This past Saturday was Mr. Mike's birthday (also known as Pops).  We had a great time with the whole Cochran family on Sunday celebrating Mr. Mike, and then we swung by the pumpkin patch at Matthew's Manor on our way home.  Happy Birthday, Pops!  You are such a great dad, father-in-law, and Pops!

 Chase loves to say "CHEESE!"

If there is one thing Chase loves, its cake.  One of my favorite parts of our get togethers is when Chase first sees the cake.  He pretty much locks eyes with it and doesn't take his eyes off the prize until he has his piece.

One Month

Happy One Month to George!
What a whirlwind of a month this has been.  It has seemed to last forever, and at the same time, it has flown by in a blink.  It is so hard to remember what life was like before George, and Clay and I wouldn't have it any other way.  Harper may have different feelings about how life has changed around here...but she'll have a best friend as soon as George starts sharing food.  All-in-all, life is becoming more and more normal, and we are in a great little routine.

He has started really looking at us in the eyes, and holding our gaze for a little bit.  That might be our favorite thing yet.  Overall- George is such a happy baby, unless he's hungry (I guess he takes after his mom in that respect...).  His two favorite things are tummy time and bath time (see pictures below), and is getting more and more head control everyday.  These are also my favorite times of day, because nothing makes my heart melt more than watching Clay with George.

We could not be more thankful for this little guy, and are really cherishing each and every moment we get to spend with him.

These one month pictures were taken post-bath.  George gets a little sleepy after his bath...

I think he might start sleeping through the night if he could be in a bath all night.

George loves playing on his playmat!

Newborn Pictures

On Sunday, October 2, we had Catherine Mayo come over to take George's newborn pictures.  I am so happy with the way she captured this precious stage of George's life, along with Clay, me, and Harper.  Harper was probably the most excited for all of the pictures, but George was a trooper through the whole session.  Here are a few of our favorites...

Happy Birthday, Dad!

This past Saturday was Clay's birthday, and we got to celebrate all weekend long!  Clay has become a dad in the most natural way, and it has been the biggest blessing to watch him be a dad to George.  He has also been the best husband to me over the past three and a half years, and even more so in the past three weeks since George has been here.  He has served me in the most unbelievable ways, and it made me so excited to get to celebrate who he is in our lives this past weekend.  Happy birthday, Clay!  We love you so much.

George's First Roadtrip!

My cousin, Mary Alice, and I have been 2 weeks apart in our pregnancy.  It has been so much fun to go through these 40 weeks together, especially when we found out that we were both having boys!  George was born on Monday, September 19, and her little boy, Jack, was born 8 days later on September 27.  I waited as long as I could to go visit, and after our pediatrician appointment yesterday, my mom and I packed up and drove to Troy to get to meet Jack and visit with Mary Alice and my aunt Marianne.  It was a 5 hour round-trip visit, and George did so well in the car!

George loved meeting his new second cousin, and I loved getting to see my family!

George loved cuddling on his Great Aunt Marianne!

Mary Alice and me with Jack and George!

The boys were so sleepy from playing with family.

I was pretty tired when we got home from Troy...

George, on the other hand, was up and ready to play!

We had so much fun visiting with Mary Alice, Jack, and Marianne.   I am reminded everyday how blessed we are by the family we have on both sides.  The love, support, and encouragement they have given us over the past two weeks (and one day!) has blessed us in so many ways.
