All laughs

This has been such a fun weekend.  Saturday night we went out to Mama Zo and Pops' house and got to see everyone.  It was time for George to eat some food, and Mama Zo was excited to get to feed him!

After a few minutes, Chase decided that he wanted to help.  Chase is so sweet to George!

After dinner, it was time for George to get a bath.  Chase tried with all of his might to watch, but he had to join in the fun with George.

Lots of playtime on the bed with each other!

Then it was time to ride Uncle Clay around the house for a little bit.

We had so much fun- and George was passed out within five minutes of leaving he had played so hard.

We also got George a high chair on Saturday.  In the Bumbo seat he looks enormous.  In the high chair he looks teeny tiny.  But he seemed really excited to get to sit in a big chair!

Lastly, we host our small group for church every Sunday evening.  5:30-7pm is usually a pretty rough time around our house, but we are starting to realize that George genuinely loves being around other people.  He loves to be held by anyone in general, but really loves it when our house (or wherever he is) is filled with people.  This is such a blessing to us, and I hope this will always be one of George's qualities.  Here's a little video of post-small-group George.

It was like he was on a 'high' after being around so many people.  He couldn't stop laughing!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

Happy Five Months!

George turned five months today!  It almost seems like overnight some major changes have set in.  First of all- George's hair has just become absolutely crazy.  We brush it after the bath, but if we let it do its own thing...well, this is what he would look like:

He's also started playing in his exersaucer, and loves it!  He reaches for toys, plays with the ones within his reach, and can spin around in his little seat.  His favorite toy on his exersaucer is this random red and yellow flower.  It does NOTHING.  It doesn't light up, spin, rattle, or even move like all of the other toys on the exersaucer.  But he is enthralled with it, to the point that it will frustrate him that he can't get it out and chew on it.  I love to watch him play!

He is also trying to take over his feedings.  The lady who keeps him in the nursery at our church said giving him a bottle 'is like feeding a bottle to an octopus'.  He wants to hold his bottle, or hold our hand and guide the spoon into his mouth.  No matter what, it usually makes for a fun mess!

Happy five months, George!

Over the River and Through the Woods

...to Nana's house we went!

Saturday we went out to visit Nana, and Aunt Beth was there too.  It was so much fun getting to visit with them, and George loved getting to see them and get lots of love.

 George loves getting kisses...

So much so that he tries to give them too!

By the end of our visit, George was getting a little sleepy.

Thanks for letting us come over, Nana!

How is February Almost Over?

Maybe it's the warm weather, but January and February have absolutely flown by.  I've always thought these are the two longest months of the year, but they have been filled with lots of walks, visits to the zoo, and time outside.  All-in-all, 2012 is off to a great start!

Clay has been wanting to have George all to himself for a whole weekend for a while now.  I got to meet up with my friends in Nashville and have some really fun girl time, while George and Clay had guy time here in Birmingham.  I realized that I still had flecks of toenail polish from my last pedicure, which was the day before George was born, so a pedicure was definitely in my near future.  The weekend was filled with fun girly dinners, pedicures, and overall laziness not normally afforded to life with a newborn.  It was such great time with my girlfriends, but I was so excited to get back home to these faces:

Clay sent me the picture of George Saturday night while I was out of town, and I seriously considered getting in the car that minute and driving home.  Before having George, I thought that having babies meant I would have to give up so much in order to take care of our children.  There are days that are more challenging than others, but it doesn't feel like a sacrifice to be George's mom.  I know this sounds cliche, but being a mom to George and a wife to Clay are the two biggest blessings in my life.

Lastly, Aunt Gina came over to hug on George, and got this picture of him.  I know I see his face all day, everyday, but it just never gets old!  I wish I had the video of what we were doing to get George to flash his two-teeth smile, because it was basically his own personal circus behind this camera.  I'd say the end definitely justified the means with this one!

Hope y'all have a great Friday!

Happy Weekend!

Clay was out of town with work all week, and we could not be more excited to have him home today!  George had a great week, but we just missed Dad so much.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the week:
This might be one of my all-time favorite pictures.

With this picture being a close second.  George really does like prunes- he just doesn't get the spoon part.

I left George on his playmat while I was getting a few things done.  I came back in the room to this face! He had rolled from his back to his belly, and I'm not sure who was more surprised- George or me.
Way to go, buddy!

Here is Harper's take on everything:

Harper is not impressed with George one bit.  I'm really holding out for the day that George loves Harper and vice versa.  For now, there's just a lot of heavy breathing and sulking from Harper.

It's just a roller coaster of emotions in the Cochran house.

Hope you have a great weekend!
